Wisconsin US Senate Candidate Phil Anderson Embraces Bitcoin Donations and Cryptocurrency Advocacy

Madison, WI - March 20, 2024 - Phil Anderson, candidate for the United States Senate from Wisconsin, has announced today that his campaign will now accept Bitcoin donations. Anderson's decision underscores his commitment to innovation and financial freedom, as well as his support for the cryptocurrency ecosystem.

Anderson challenged the Wisconsin Ethics Commission during his 2018 gubernatorial campaign to clarify its policy on cryptocurrency donations. When the WEC deferred to the Wisconsin State Assembly, which did not take up the matter, Anderson’s campaign accepted Bitcoin donations anyway. By accepting Bitcoin donations again, Anderson aims to provide supporters with greater flexibility in contributing to his campaign while signaling his endorsement of the burgeoning cryptocurrency movement.

In addition to accepting Bitcoin donations, Anderson has expressed his general support for cryptocurrency and blockchain technology. He believes that these innovations have the potential to revolutionize finance, empower individuals, and foster economic growth.

Moreover, Anderson has taken a firm stance against the creation of a central bank digital currency (CBDC). He argues that CBDCs could exacerbate issues of financial surveillance and centralization, posing risks to individual privacy and economic sovereignty. “A central bank digital currency is a huge threat to citizens’ privacy and freedom.

As your Senator, I will do everything in my power to prevent the creation of a CBDC,” states Anderson emphatically.
